Job Details
Great Scott Gadgets is seeking a Community Engagement and Operations Coordinator to join our small team. This is a remote role where you’ll wear many hats, including community engagement, operational logistics, and technical support. If you’re someone who thrives on variety, enjoys solving challenges, and values open source tools, we’d love to hear from you. This full-time hybrid role could potentially be split into two part-time roles: Operations Coordinator and Community Engagement Coordinator. Each job function and skill in the job description is tagged as (E) for Community Engagement or (O) for Operations to make it clear which skills are relevant to each job function for applicants seeking part-time work.
- Location: 100% Remote (Worldwide)
- Pay: Hourly, $30-$40/hour
- Work hours: Full-time (40 hours/week) or part-time (if split into two roles)
- Work schedule: Flexible hours with some required meetings M-F, 8 AM–5 PM Mountain Time
- Work category: Contract
- Language: English proficiency required
- Travel: Not required
- Reports to: Elizabeth Hendrex (CEO)
About Us
The mission of Great Scott Gadgets is to put open source tools into the hands of innovative people. To do this, we design, manufacture, and distribute open source hardware, create and maintain open source software, write open access documentation, and create educational material that reduces barriers for researchers (new or seasoned) who are interested in digital signals, computer security, and other related fields.
What You’ll Do
- Reseller Liaison
- Coordinate wholesale orders (O)
- Manage shipping logistics and invoices (O)
- Onboard new resellers and handle inquiries (O)
- Operations Support
- Maintain inventory accuracy (O)
- Coordinate warehouse and shipping operations (O)
- Present quarterly inventory and sales reports (O)
- Ensure warehouse stock levels meet demand (O)
- Community Engagement
- Manage social media, website updates, and outreach campaigns (E)
- Write blogs, knowledge base articles, and product documentation (E)
- Create engaging and informative graphics and videos (E)
- Moderate platforms (GitHub, Discord, etc.) to keep them safe and welcoming (E)
- Plan and participate in community initiatives and events (E)
- Respond to community inquiries via email and social media platforms (E/O)
- Technical Support
- Respond to technical inquiries and provide solutions (E)
- Triage and escalate urgent issues as needed (E/O)
